THE MANSARD – PUTSBOROUGH

Sea views, coastal charm and Putsborough Beach virtually on your doorstep.

The Mansard is a beautifully presented coastal retreat on Vention Road, Putsborough, enjoying wonderful views towards the beach and sea. Light, welcoming interiors, relaxed coastal styling and a superb position make this a lovely base for days spent surfing, swimming, walking or simply enjoying this spectacular stretch of the North Devon coast.

The accommodation has an easy, sociable feel, combining the kitchen, dining and living spaces with comfortable bedrooms, a stylish bathroom and outdoor areas surrounded by greenery. One of the real highlights is being able to look out towards the sea from the house – a constant reminder of just how close you are to the beach.

LIVING ROOM

The bright and comfortable living room is designed for relaxing after a day on the coast. Two generous sofas provide plenty of room for everyone to settle in, with a television for quieter evenings and attractive coastal-inspired furnishings creating a warm, homely atmosphere. Soft throws, cushions and natural textures complement the relaxed seaside setting.

KITCHEN

The kitchen has perhaps the best seat in the house, with a large window looking directly towards Putsborough Beach and the sea. Preparing breakfast or an evening meal comes with an exceptional coastal backdrop. The contemporary kitchen is well integrated into the main living space, with ample worktop space, an electric hob and oven, sink and useful storage.

DINING AREA

The dining area sits alongside the kitchen and living room, making this a wonderfully sociable space for holidays with family or friends. The dining table provides a central spot for leisurely breakfasts, family dinners or a glass of wine at the end of the day, while the open layout means everyone can remain together whether cooking, eating or relaxing.

MAIN BEDROOM

The spacious main bedroom is a calm and inviting retreat, furnished with a double bed and an additional single bed. Soft coastal colours, bedside lighting and layered bedding give the room a restful feel, while windows bring in plenty of natural light.

TWIN BEDROOM

The second bedroom is equally welcoming, with two comfortable single beds dressed in coordinating coastal tones. There is also a sofa/day bed in the room, together with hanging and storage space. The light, uncluttered styling makes this an attractive and versatile room for children, teenagers or adults.

BATHROOM

The stylish family bathroom features a bath with an overhead shower and glass screen, wash basin and WC. Green-toned tiles around the bath introduce a lovely natural element, while the heated towel rail adds extra comfort. It is a fresh, practical space whether you need a quick shower after the beach or a long soak at the end of the day.

GARDEN & OUTSIDE SPACE

The Mansard sits within an established coastal garden with mature trees and planting that give the property a wonderfully tucked-away feel. Outdoor seating provides somewhere to enjoy a morning coffee or the fresh sea air, while glimpses towards the beach and ocean reinforce the property's enviable position.

There is convenient outdoor space for hanging wetsuits and storing surf gear after a day in the water – particularly useful for surfers and families planning to make the most of the beach.

LOCATION – PUTSBOROUGH

The setting is one of The Mansard's greatest attractions. Putsborough Sands, at the southern end of Woolacombe's magnificent sweep of golden sand, offers a beautiful setting for swimming, surfing, beach days and coastal walks.

Nearby Croyde offers pubs, cafés, restaurants and another of North Devon's best-known surfing beaches, while Woolacombe provides a wider selection of shops and places to eat. PUTSBOROUGH & THE SURROUNDING AREA

Putsborough is one of North Devon’s most special coastal destinations, tucked away at the southern end of the magnificent stretch of golden sand that runs between Putsborough and Woolacombe. Sheltered beneath the dramatic headland of Baggy Point, it has a quieter, more secluded feel than some of the larger neighbouring resorts, while still offering easy access to everything this part of the coast has to offer.

PUTSBOROUGH SANDS

The beautiful sandy beach is the main attraction. Its wide expanse of golden sand is ideal for long beach days, swimming, surfing and family holidays, with plenty of room to find your own spot even during the busier summer months. Its position beneath Baggy Point also gives Putsborough a wonderfully dramatic coastal backdrop.

SURFING & WATERSPORTS

North Devon is renowned for its surfing, and Putsborough is an excellent place to enjoy the water. More experienced surfers can also head to nearby Croyde Bay, while Woolacombe and Saunton offer further opportunities for surfing, bodyboarding and other watersports. Equipment hire and surf schools are readily available throughout the area.

BAGGY POINT & COASTAL WALKS

Walkers are particularly well catered for. The South West Coast Path passes through this spectacular section of coastline, with walks around Baggy Point providing sweeping views across the Atlantic and along the beaches towards Woolacombe and Morte Point. There are routes ranging from leisurely coastal strolls to longer days exploring the North Devon countryside.

CROYDE

A short distance away, Croyde is a lively coastal village with a wonderful holiday atmosphere. Its thatched cottages and winding lanes are home to a good selection of pubs, cafés, restaurants and surf shops, while Croyde Bay itself is one of the best-known surfing beaches in the country.

WOOLACOMBE

At the opposite end of the bay is Woolacombe, a popular seaside village with shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. Its vast sandy beach provides another superb option for a day beside the sea and is particularly popular with families and surfers.

SAUNTON & BRAUNTON

Further along the coast, Saunton Sands offers another spectacular sweep of beach backed by the impressive Braunton Burrows dune system. Golfers can enjoy the renowned links courses at Saunton, while nearby Braunton has supermarkets, independent shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants.

EXPLORING NORTH DEVON

Putsborough is also well positioned for exploring further afield. The harbour town of Ilfracombe, the villages and countryside of Exmoor, picturesque coastal settlements and the market town of Barnstaple can all be reached for days out, while the surrounding coastline offers an almost endless choice of beaches, walking routes and viewpoints.

Whether your ideal holiday involves surfing at sunrise, long days on the sand, walking the coast path, discovering local pubs and restaurants or simply sitting back and watching the Atlantic, Putsborough offers a wonderfully unspoilt base for a North Devon holiday.
