"Wonderful weekend stay in this cosy cottage. Perfect base for trip to North Devon. The fire is amazing for winter and the bed was really comfortable and warm. Also the scones, jam and cream set up for our arrival were delicious!"

With parts dating back over 400 years, this charming retreat holds a rich history, believed to be the original bakehouse for the main house. The authenticity of its past is preserved with the original bread oven still in place, standing gracefully to the side of the wood-burning stove.
Situated on the edge of Monkleigh village, Coachmans offers a tranquil escape within easy walking distance of the welcoming village inn, The Bell, renowned for its excellent food and friendly atmosphere. The cottage finds itself in a peaceful location, surrounded by extensive gardens spanning approximately 3 acres. A highlight is the large wildlife garden featuring a serene pond, creating an idyllic setting for relaxation and communion with nature.

These beautiful grounds are available for the exclusive enjoyment of those staying at the cottage, complete with garden furniture and a small charcoal barbecue for al fresco moments. It's important to note that the grounds are extensive and unfenced, requiring supervision for children to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Despite its compact size, Coachmans boasts a wood burner, adding a touch of warmth and creating a cosy, romantic hideaway for two. The cottage is part of the traditional cobbled courtyard setting of original buildings surrounding the main house, exuding a rustic charm that complements its stunning rural location. Off-road parking is conveniently available right in front of the cottage, allowing for easy access to this enchanting retreat.
