Be sure to visit the impressive bronze ‘Verity’ sculpture, which stands 20 metres tall, created by the world famous artist Damien Hirst. Eat at a Michelin starred restaurant, The Olive Room. Enjoy a visit to the theatre or one of the many galleries. There is so much to do in Ilfracombe, or take time to travel just a few miles further afield to one of the stunning surf beaches at Croyde, Saunton or Woolacombe.

LIVING AREAS
Upon entering, you find yourself in a foyer with a door leading out onto the deck, where a picnic bench and lovely sea views await. A hallway from the foyer leads to the lounge and dining area. The space is adorned with two 2-seater sofas, an electric fireplace, and large windows offering wonderful sea views. Entertainment is provided with a TV and DVD player, and there's a dining table that comfortably seats 4 people, creating a pleasant atmosphere for meals with a view.

KITCHEN
Appliances include a double oven, gas hob, slimline dishwasher, washing machine, undercounter fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and all essential kitchen utensils, pots, pans, cutlery and crockery.
Supplied is ?a Nespresso machine plus a cafetiere
(For our coffee-loving guests!).
We do provide some capsules and tea/coffee complementary.

Please note: There are 34 steps to the front door.

Parking:
There is ample free parking in the vicinity, (around the Church and in Runnacleave Road)
In addition, the single yellow lines right outside can be parked Olin between 18:00 and 10:00.
If guests want long term parking then The Ropery Carpark near the harbour is the one to use.

Important Notice for Future Guests:

  • The car park will be temporarily closed for resurfacing.
  • Ample free parking is available nearby, especially around the Church and on Runnacleave Road.
  • If you use a paid car park, the owner will refund your costs up to £10 per day, except for the Theatre Car Park due to its high expense.
  • You may also park on the single yellow lines outside the property between 18:00 and 10:00.
  • For long-term parking, we recommend The Ropery Car Park near the harbour.

We apologise for any inconvenience and aim to ensure your stay is enjoyable. We have informed all future guests about the car park closure to avoid any surprises.

CYCLE TO - Ilfracombe and its surrounding areas on the Tarka Trail - National Cycle Network, Devon Coast Route 27. This is a wonderfully scenic circular route on the North Devon coast with a link that allows a start and finish in Ilfracombe and takes in two superb traffic free sections, the National Trust coast route and the former railway path from Ilfracombe to Willingcott Cross. The remainder is along attractive minor roads through quiet villages and rolling Devon farmland. Boat trips run regularly from Ilfracombe harbour and include wildlife cruises around the bay and trips to Lundy Island. Visit Ilfracombe Aquarium, the unique Tunnels Beaches, fascinating Ilfracombe Museum, Larkstone Leisure Park, Hele Cornmill and Chambercombe Manor, one of Britain's most haunted houses.

DRIVE TO - Combe Martin, Woolacombe, Lynton, Lynmouth, the Valley of the Rocks, the choice is endless! This home away from home is perfectly located just minutes from the centre of the historic harbour town of Ilfracombe with its theatre, galleries, restaurants as well as the busy harbour with its boat trips and ferries to Lundy Island. A number of beaches are within easy reach including, Woolacombe, Croyde, Saunton, Putsborough, Instow, and Westward Ho! Public Review: We had a fantastic stay in Ilfracombe! The flat was in a great location and the balcony was a brilliant bonus. It was easy to find and well-maintained. We cooked most days and found it well-stocked with pots, pans, and other essentials. We enjoyed a great meal at Lynbay Fish and Chip Shop, explored the Tunnel Beaches, and took a trip to Lundy from Ilfracombe Harbour. We also did a local walk to Hele Beach, appreciating the many options on our doorstep. A highlight was walking the coastal path from Lynton to the Valley of Rocks, about a 40-minute drive away. We had a really good stay, thank you. We spent New Year at this lovely apartment and it was perfect. Everything we needed, the owners were very helpful, the view was amazing, friendly pubs nearby and we had some wonderful beach walks with our dog too.

Just had a great weeks stay at Raphael in Ilfracombe. Booked it having read glowing reviews and was not disappointed.Great location with sea views and dedicated parking. Clean and very comfortable accommodation.Really well equipped. Paul, the owner, was pleasant ,very helpful and had kindly laid on supplies of milk, coffee pods, biscuits, sweets, wine, beer and cider.

The position of the apartment couldn't be better, so central and with stunning views over the sea. I particularly liked having parking too. This was a fantastic apartment with excellent location and sea views. Exceptionally well equipped and comfortable. Access to apartment is via stairs but they are safe, deep tread and wide with substantial handrails. My elderly parents in their late 80's had no trouble getting up and down from the apartment. A good welcome package greeted us on arrival including beer and wine. We had a fantastic time. I would recommend this apartment Raphael, in Gabriel House Illfracombe to anyone wanting a holiday in Illfracombe. The views from this place is incredible. If you wanted to you could sit and watch the sea all day. Parking is a bonus. Great carpark and safe. There is outdoor seating too. A real treasure. Glad we found it. “Thankyou. We had a great week. The apartment was fantastic. Fully equipped and very comfortable. The location couldn't be better. I was worried about the steps to the apartment before going but didn't have to be worried. Wide safe steps with handrails. Elderly parents had no trouble getting up and down from apartment. This property had the best sea view we have ever had, you are literally just across the road from the sea. Its location is also perfect for shops, restaurants, pubs etc. On arriving at the apartment we read their strict cleaning process the apartment goes through before guests arrival and you could tell that this was adhered to as it was completely spotless. The apartment was surprisingly labyrinthine considering it was not huge; it was quite easy to take a wrong turn in the middle of the night heading for the kitchen! The living room and principal bedroom were large and airy, decorated in a minimalist, Scandi style with clean whites blues and greys - big windows, high ceilings, a sense of calm and space. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding of good quality. The en-suite shower room was perhaps a trifle snug for a fully grown adult male, but that didn't matter because there was also a family bathroom within walking distance. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed cooking a couple of meals there. What I particularly loved was the sun room and outdoor terrace overlooking the theatre and beach - we spent quite a lot of time out there watching the world go by and soaking up the sun. The location, too, could not be improved on - close to the beaches, not far from the harbour, an easy walk to the town and shops. The owners were very friendly and nice. “Our week in the Raphael apartment was very enjoyable starting with a warm welcome on arrival. The location is fantastic, central and within walking distance of all attractions and amenities. ILFRACOMBE RAPHAEL | 2 Bedrooms | Sleeps 4 We had a lovely stay in the Raphael apartment, lovely sea views and also sea terrace for that evening glass of wine. The apartment was immaculate when we arrived and has undergone a large amount of refurbishment, from the online pictures. The owners were on site when we arrived and are lovely people, couldn’t do enough for you. It was also a really nice touch to find milk, beer and wine in the fridge. Fantastic sea views! Left on Jun 3, 2019 for a stay in Apr 2019 The location is amazing - just across the road from the beach with views of Capstone Hill. Restaurants and bars are on your doorstep with a level walk to the harbour. The apartment is well equipped, light and airy and has a lovely decking terrace to sit and watch the world go by! Also has the added bonus of free parking.
