Braunton, nestled in the heart of North Devon, is a truly outstanding holiday destination that perfectly captures the charm and beauty of the British coastline. This welcoming village offers a relaxed atmosphere while sitting just minutes from some of the finest beaches in the country. At nearby Saunton Sands, visitors can enjoy miles of golden sand backed by rolling dunes, ideal for long walks, family beach days and unforgettable sunsets over the Atlantic. Just along the coast, Croyde Bay is renowned for its excellent surf and vibrant seaside character, while Woolacombe Beach regularly earns praise as one of the best beaches in the UK thanks to its clean waters and expansive shoreline.

Beyond its beaches, Braunton is surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes. Braunton Burrows, one of the largest sand dune systems in Britain and part of a UNESCO-designated biosphere reserve, offers peaceful walking trails rich in wildlife and rare plant species. The nearby Tarka Trail provides a scenic, mostly traffic-free route for cycling and walking, winding through countryside, estuary views and charming Devon scenery. For those wanting dramatic coastal vistas, Baggy Point offers spectacular cliff-top walks with panoramic sea views, while the picturesque harbour town of Ilfracombe and the wild beauty of Exmoor National Park are both within easy reach, making Braunton an ideal base for exploring the wider region.

The village itself has a friendly and authentic feel, with independent shops, cosy cafés, traditional pubs and excellent local eateries serving fresh seafood and Devon specialities. Whether you are seeking outdoor adventure, peaceful countryside, family-friendly beaches or simply a place to unwind by the sea, Braunton and its surrounding areas offer a perfect balance of relaxation and exploration. With its combination of natural beauty, coastal charm and warm hospitality, it stands out as one of North Devon’s most rewarding holiday destinations.
