Westward Ho! Cottages | Self Catering Holiday Cottages in Westward Ho

Westward Ho! has been a popular family self catering holiday cottages resort since Victorian times and boasts two miles of beautiful pet friendly sandy beach known as The Golden Bay. Enjoy surfing, kite surfing, canoeing, rock pools, relaxing on the beach and much more. The beach is backed by a unique pebble ridge that links to Northam Burrows Country Park which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The promenade runs along the waterfront and makes easy access to the tidal pool, beaches, restaurants and shops. There are many coastal walks to explore and for cyclists, the Tarka Trail is close by; not to mention The Royal North Devon Golf Club, which is the oldest golf course in England. Should you wish to explore North Devon, Appledore is on Westward Ho!’s doorstep, while just over 3 miles away is Bideford, which is still a working port and market town and where The Oldenburg sails for day trips to Lundy Island.

If it is rambling you are after, there are countless footpaths for you to explore along the coast and inland, given the South West Coast Path passes right through Westward Ho!.

Within driving distance is Atlantic Village outlet shopping centre, Tapeley Park, Instow, The Big Sheep, Dartington Crystal, Clovelly, Bucks Mills, Hartland Point & Quay, The Milky Way adventure park and open-air and pannier markets. Just a short hop over the Torridge Bridge, is the large market town of Barnstaple, with all high street conveniences, cinema, theatre, museums and nightlife.

From Barnstaple, one is in easy reach of many magnificent North Devon blue-flag beaches including Croyde, Woolacombe, Saunton Sands, Braunton Burrows and Putsborough, all famous surf spots.
