Barnstaple Has Everything For A Perfect Holiday - Wonderful Town, Good Shops, Excellent Transport And Beautiful Beaches Nearby

by Admin7. December 2013 09:52

Coming to Barnstaple? As the premier town in North Devon you’ll find great bars, great restaurants and big name high street shopping. But that’s not what makes Barnstaple special. Not alone. That’s done by the independent boutique shops within the town, the proud local food producers selling their delicious delicacies in the Pannier Market and, of course, the town’s colourful history. It’s this mix of new and old, of modern and traditional that’s behind Barnstaple’s charm. We’d love you to share it with us. Barnstaple bereft of history? Think again! It’s the oldest borough in England and was once the most important port in the South West. It even played its role in the defeat of the Spanish Armada. Whether you want to catch a live band, laugh yourself silly at a celebrity stand-up gig or catch one of the latest films in the cinema, there’s always something to keep you entertained in Barnstaple. It’s not just big high street names that make shopping in Barnstaple fun. Delightful boutique shops offer everything from jeans, to jewellery, to juice. There’s plenty of secure parking close by too. What more could you need? Maybe an extra pair of arms for your bags...

Barnstaple’s restaurants cover cuisine from all over the world. So whether you fancy Italian, Indian, Thai or Chinese, you’re sure to find something that hits the spot. There are plenty of well-known chain restaurants here too. Tuck in!

Devon is renowned for its fresh local produce and Barnstaple gives you plenty of places where you can snap it up at its best. Do your taste buds a favour and get stuck in. You won’t regret it!

Barnstaple is extremely sport-friendly and home to fantastic facilities. Whether you love playing or prefer watching, you’ll find plenty to fill your spare time – from rowing to a round of golf. Fore!

Choice Holiday Cottages in North Devon give you the best of both worlds, close to Barnstaple and all it has to offer, with the traditional village aspects found in many of the wonderful North Devon Villages. Have a look at English Rose Cottage and Overton House, both in Bishops Tawton (with its excellent village pub, the Chichester Arms), or head for the village of High Bickington and Forest View. Start to plan your escape to the country now!

Christmas Is Coming ? Visit The Polar Express At Dartmoor Railway And Experience The Magic!

by Admin5. December 2013 09:55

Christmas Is Coming – Visit The Polar Express At Dartmoor Railway And Experience The Magic!

“All Aboard” The Polar Express!

Inspired by the run-away hit movie produced by Warner Bros. Entertainment and the award winning book by Chris Van Allsburg, this very special train ride is inspired by magic and designed to delight and inspire your family this festive season. The Polar Express train makes a mystical round-trip journey to the North Pole. The characters of the story come to life with the conductor punching away at the children’s golden tickets, chefs dancing and delivering hot chocolate and cookies, and the doubting hobo wandering through the train. The story is read aloud and the music from the movie plays for all the kids to sing along. At the North Pole, Santa anxiously awaits the children amongst the sparkling lights of his little city and climbs aboard to give the classic silver sleigh bell to all the believing boys and girls. Greet Santa just like the children in the story, and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity for the whole family to take part in the magic by coming dressed in your favourite pyjamas! Each passenger in Premium Class seating will receive the commemorative Polar Express mug to take home. Add to it each year as your family makes the Polar Express an annual tradition.
